Fire Safety Day

Last week, WKU recognized Fire Safety Month with a fun and educational exhibit on Centennial Mall. The Bowling Green Fire Department was on hand to guide groups through a smoke simulation room and fire extinguisher games. I got a little wet shooting that, but it was hysterical to watch them use an extinguisher for the first time.

Parents Weekend/UCA Game

The Hilltoppers looked to change their loosing ways this past weekend, on Parents Weekend for that matter, against the University of Central Arkansas. Just so you all know it poured all afternoon before the game. This, sadly, kept quite a few fans away from the game and stopped most of the tailgating. Never the less the game was still on. Thankfully the rain held off just long enough to get the game in. However the Hilltoppers were unable to come away with a win. For more on the game and other Western info head to The College Heights Herald. Hope you all enjoy the images.

Football Home Opener

Hello blogger world. It has been a while since you have heard from me but believe me I have been busy. We have been busy the past few weeks as Western’s campus transformed from a dead summer campus to a packed, fall campus. Last weekend Western hosted its first Football Bowl Subdivision game as the Hilltoppers took on the Bulls of South Florida. Sadly the Hilltoppers came up short in the end. However the game was hard fought and Western’s football team showed some promise for the season. Another highlight was the attendance reached to the second highest number in school history. Below are a selection from the first official Football Bowl Subdivision game as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. Enjoy.
