WKU hits the track

What do Big Red, the 05 Chevy racer and Casey Atwood have in common? They all came together Saturday to run the NASCAR Nationwide Series Federated 300 race in Nashville sporting the WKU red towel on the hood. This unique opportunity came about through Brewco Motorsports of Central City as they offered WKU placement on the car in exchange for a feature article in the next WKU Spirit alumni magazine. We were happy to oblige!

Big Red was all over the place followed closely by an ESPN crew. We qualified in 27th place and were moving up the ranks when we were caught in another wreck and forced to exit the race on lap 3. Such is racing they say. Hopefully the experiment worked and a few more people heard about WKU and generated some interest for the Hill. We’ll see!
